Maria escaped from Solaris with the Gear her father created- Seibzehn. Her father was captured and forced to experiment in creating the ultimate Gear. Her Gear, Seibzehn, is a product of such an experiment- a fusion of man and machine. She is the grand daughter of Ol' man Bal, who you meet under the Aveh desert.
